as boston mourns the lives lost in the bombing attacks. >> i feel really, really sorry for all of this. >> tonight, the surviving suspect communicates with investigators. >> we have a million questions and they need to be answers. >> good evening. tonight, prosecutors are preparing to formally charge that bombing suspect, let's get right to cbs reporter andriana diaz. >> reporter: the suspect is treated here at boston's best israel. he lost so much blood from gun wounds on friday he may not have survived if he was not found in time. >> reporter: cbs news confirmed the 19-year-old, the surviving suspect in the marathon bombings is awake in a boston hospital. the sources say he is responding to questions in writing. he has not been able to talk

because of a gunshot wound to his neck that may have been self-intphreubgted. the police captured him friday night in watertown. his older brother tamerlan died during a shootout with officers. the police say he and his brother planted the bomb. they had more devices likely for a second attack. a special interrogation team is here at boston's medical center to try todetermine a motive. >> investigators are combing through the brother's past n. 2011 the fbi questioned them about possible ties. now, the police want to know why he went to russia six months ago. >> people in boston gathered for prayer on sunday. cardinal shawn o'malley preached about tolerance. >> the crime of the two young men must not be the justification for prejudice against muslims or against immigrants. >> reporter: mourners are

it will ruin everything. last week a bad storm in chicago and that airport came to a near close. with -- and that is with everybody in their jobs. everyone seems to be saying it is not my fault but nobody has a plan to fix it. at san francisco international heairports union is asking a federal court stop the furlough of air traffic controllers. faa officials declined to comment. checking bay area headlines, richmond police are searching for two gunmen that shot and injured a man last night. it happened in the 600 block of griffin drive. they say the suspects got away. the victim of a shooting last night died today. the police have not released the identity of the 26-year-old victim yet. we know he was shot just before

10:00 a.m. in the driveway of a home on franklin avenue. he was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment but died of his injuries this morning. so far the police have no suspects. in alameda, a coast guard cutter returned home today. families lined the dock to greet their loved ones. the cutter spent three months, uncovered 18,000 miles in the waters off of southern california. during that time they rescued two people on a sailboat and seized a boat carrying two tons of marijuana. people who have been evacuate friday their homes in west texas were allowed back today after the deadly explosion at a fertilizer plant. the road to recovery will be a long one for the tight-knit community. >> reporter: this is the aftermath of wednesday's fertilizer plant explosion in the small town of west, texas. a blast so powerful it tore off the walls and the roof of the

colorado police identified a possible suspect in the shooting of a marijuana celebration. witnesses say as many as 10 shots erupted at a 4/20 rally yesterday. the gun fire injured two people and scattered a crowd of thousands. this is the first big event of its kind in colorado since the state legalized marijuana. the police say they did everything they could to protect public safety. >> you can have all of security in the world and things can happen. so, obviously i think we were fast and. >> the suspect is shown walking through the crowd and moving away from the shooting. despite the violence, organizers say they are looking forward to next year's event. the iconic dome movie theater in pleasant hill is screening its last movie right now. the decades old landmark is closing to make way for a new development. but, for some dome supporters, the fight is not over yet.

francisco bay is expanding and starting next monday the transportation authority will add an evening trip during the workweek. tell leave south san francisco at 6:20 p.m. and take commuters to e east bay. the rrie between san francisco and south city. the transportation authority believes the trips will boost ridership because right now only 131 commuters on average take the san francisco ferry to the east bay ferry from san francisco to the east bay monday through friday. all right, a beautiful weekend to enjoy outdoor activities. find out if the warmer temperatures are going to stick around. what a gorgeous day today. the temperatures are well above average and we have more of the same to start off your workweek. check out what it looked like earlier today. this is a look at san francisco's ocean beach. we had sun bathers outside. the temperatures reached into the 70 list into the 80s. some of our inland spots, again, this is what is in store

for monday. more sunshine, more warm weather, sunny skies, reaching close to 90 degrees in some of the inland spots and along the coast. it is going to still reach into the low 70s. we have another nice day on tap. so, why? it is a huge ridge of high pressure. it is just settled on in around the bay area. so, any storm track staying well away from the bay area, a little bit of rain showers there in portland, parts of seattle. but, for the bay area we are high and try. that is what is keeping us in these temperatures on the more mild side. it looks like for the future and in the longer range forecast really not seeing good chance of significant rain. so, this is your overnight lows, what they look like. a lot of low temperatures, 61, the overnight low in vellijo. and skies should be clear, once again. so, for tomorrow, we are going to see a repeat. going to hit repeat on today.

maybe the temperatures can be a degree or two warmer. everywhere you see orange that means the temperatures in the 80s. we are painting things pretty nice tomorrow as well. 77 in oakland, 90 in vellijo. the warmest, inland, 86 in livermore. but even in pacifica reaching into the low 70s. your forecast over the next several days, what you can expect. a nice day on tap for monday. then, we begin a decrease in the temperatures. the cooling trend on the way. but, again, high pressure remains in effect. it might be nice throughout the workweek. the temperatures by thursday and friday. it looks like 50s and 60s along the coast and still seeing a lot of 70ss in our inland spots. hopefully you can get out and enjoy some of it, ann back to you. >> thank you, elizabeth. known as one of hollywood sweethearts why the police

thriller bolivian takes top star. the oscar winner and her husband, jim toth, were puld over actress, reese witherspoon was arrested after her celebrity card failed to get her off of the hook. the oscar winner and her d huanwere pulled over on friday. she disobeyed the officer. she asked the officer who she was and he said he did not she replayed, you are about to find out. she was arrested for disordererly conduct. a big name in broadcasting. al michaels arrested on friday night on suspicion of drunk driving. the 68-year-old sports announcer for nbc was spotted making an illegal u-turn at a dui checkpoint and pulled over.

trash. divers from the a quakium of the bay were in the water today. cleaning up aquatic park at part of earth day. they found all kinds of junk that you never see from the beach. >> people have gone down there and brought up tires and sinks and last year i found a couple crowbars. it is things that come off of a lot the ships, too. but a lot of bottles, a lot of trash and things that sink to the bottom. >> organizers say one way to keep the trash from building up on the beach or in the water is to reduce what you use by recycling. the grand parade is cherry on top at the annual cherry blossom festival in san francisco. more than 1500 participants march through japan town this afternoon to celebrate the culture. >> it brings the japanese culture in because people from japan are going here and go to the parades and watch. >> this cherry blossom festival is one of the biggest.
